The biggest difference is their uses. Floor tile is meant to support heavier loads and it’s built to be walked on. Wall tile is much thinner and doesn’t support the type of foot traffic that floor tile is built for. With that said, it is not uncommon to see floor tile used on the walls and wall tiles on the floor, it’s just not the recommended use for the tile.
